Hello Everyone, Welcome to Sunday and welcome to Spring, I love this amazing show that Tassie puts on every year, such a crazy combination of sunshine and snow and beautiful sunrises...Isn't it fantastic...?

Jonathan's been away for 3 weeks now and like I said the day after he left I do love the challenge of steering The All Organic Farm on my own...But I'm the first one to admit that there are soooo many things to keep up with!...the amazing team of support from my staff especially a few who are stepping well beyond the call of duty to help me out, are really the ones keeping everything going, lots of long office and warehouse hours are made so much easier with lots of laughs and many smiles.

I'm now 7 months pregnant and I feel like I'm growing, or that the little one is growing by the second!...What an amazing adventure. I've had kind words flowing in from all you regular customers and it warms my heart to feel so nurtured through this journey, not to mention all the second hand clothes, cradles, cots and baby bits from friends and customers alike...THANK YOU ALL.

Thanks for all your positive feedback for this new website, especially the constructive criticism...this is exactly what we need to make the service as user friendly as possible. You may not see many changes in the next month as while Jonathan is away on holiday I'll just be collecting all your comments and on his return we'll nut out what the best things to do are...so please keep those comments coming.

We have elected to keep offering the excel list in a modified version with order form. We have seen the need to offer a no frills list for some of you with slower internet connections. We will upgrade this list to be more user friendly as time permits.

We have a couple of hints to help make ordering on the website easy!

  • You do not have to add each item 1 by 1. You can for example choose the items you would like by putting the relevant numbers in each of the items order box as you scroll down the page. Once you have selected each item and have finished on the page simply press enter or “add to cart”. This will add all the items you have selected from that page all in one go, instead of 1 by 1, meaning less time spent ordering as you do not have to wait for the page to reload for each item.
  • You can start an order and leave the website by shutting the page down or logging out. You can come back at anytime and the website will remember where you were up to. You can do this as many times as you like and the website will always remember where you were up to (even if your computer suddenly shuts down) You just have to make sure that you are logged in before you start ordering.
  • You can make up an order with a friend or group by starting an order under a shared login name leaving it unfinished so that your friend or others in the group can login and add what they would like to the order then finalise the order when everybody has completed their part of the order. You just have to make sure that you are logged in before you start ordering.

We have also installed our new POS system in the warehouse which will help us to process orders more efficiently, track accounts and generally speed up a process that had previously taken us 15hrs to pack all the orders on Wednesdays. A few mistakes are occurring with invoicing whilst adjusting to the new system and we are very sorry for any inconvenience. If you have any queries about you invoice at anytime please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Fruit and Veg news
Apologies first up, the biggest disappointment I'm sure being the complete lack of first grade carrots. Like I said last week the carrot season for Tas is finished, I was hoping to be sent Victorian carrots but they were short too, there may be a limited amount this week available and I'm trying my hardest to secure as many of the limited supply as I can! So I made the decision to send out juicing carrots instead. If any of you were not happy with this I am more than happy to give refunds just let me know. Even the quality of the juicers was not as it should be, they were the last of Forest Hill Farm's supply and I think really they could have stopped picking a week ago. I have fresh juicing carrots arriving for this week and I will only send them out as a substitute if the quality is good, please make a note on your order if you don’t want juicing carrots if 1st graders are not available.

Yorktown Organics sprouts will be with us next week, I know I said this week but she has some new packaging coming this week so thought I wait for that. The range will be Mustard, Roquette, Mizuna, Tats soi, Beetroot... and in the coming weeks Coriander as well. They’re spring onions should be back next week and there may be a sprinkling of coriander this week to.

A fresh batch of fuerte Avocado’s are arriving this week but I can’t be sure if they will get to us on Tuesday or Friday, my fingers are crossed for Tuesday… the bacon avo’s are finished up, my apologies for the deteriorating quality at the end of the season… I’m really looking forward to eating some new season fuerte, one of my favorite ways too eat them is on grainy summer kitchen toast with miso, lemon juice and a little pepper…Yum!

We have a fabulous special on Ladybird Baby Spinach (the best of their produce I think) this week...100g bags for only $3.50 each

Turmeric is rumored to be available again this week, highest vitamin content of any known fruit or vegetable!

Spring Vegetable specials… Beautiful broccoli from Forest Hill Farm’s at $7.95 kg and I’m clearing out all our Desiree potatoes at $2.50 per kg, they are a great all round spuds making a great creamy mash of a good crunchy roast.

I am offering a couple of citrus specials this week to help all of you out there who have been struck down by these horrible germs… Tangelloes, try them juiced for a real kick, at $5.95kg… and loose navel oranges at $2.95 kg… that’s cheaper than buying them in 3 kg nets. The pink grapefruit from Humphrie are well worth a mention, just superb and reasonably priced at $3.95 kg.

I’m leaving these recipe ideas for another week because so many of you said you were working your way through them… just as you were loosing creativity in the kitchen…

Hearty soups, creamy potato and leek is one of my favorites, red lentil carrot sweet potato pumpkin and lemon, beetroot red cabbage miso roasted Russian garlic and ginger, and a French onion with crusty bread...so simple but so satisfying.

A selection of your favorite vegetables in large chunks or small, roasted and seasoned as simply or as decadently as you like... Onions garlic and Rosemary (from your nearest local park if not you or your neighbors garden...this stuff is everywhere!), cinnamon and maple syrup, salt pepper and lemon zest, cumin seeds and your favorite ground spices. The possibilities are endless.

Fiery curries and zingy stir fries using loads of onions garlic your favorite spices Terries fresh chilies chopped vegetables coconut cream and an abundance of crunchy Asian greens. that'll hit the spot!

Eggs Eggs and more eggs... we are trialing a new producer of BIODYNAMIC eggs from Glenrose in NSW, his farm sounds fabulous and I am running a special so please give them a go...
Baked in a zingy citrus cake, grated carrot and apple muffins, Pancakes with fried banana your favorite nuts and maple syrup, Poached with mushrooms spinach or silverbeet and lemon juice, or just scrambled on Summer Kitchen bread.

Oh and with all this dairy around why not a good old fashioned Cauliflower or broccoli cheese or a bake full of layers of potatoes onions pepper and cream...Mmmmmmm!
