NEW Website: www.theallorganicfarm.com.au
Please remember to have all orders in by 12 midnight Tuesday for delivery on Thursday and please return any boxes for re-use
Happy Sunday, I’m off to a Spring equinox celebration at a friends house today, with a mini outdoor film festival and lots of fabulous food. Wasn’t the mountain beautiful this morning with a fresh dusting of snow all lit up with sunshine? One more sleep till Jonathan returns to work and I take a back seat for a while… I’ll still be here at the warehouse in shorter shifts for a few weeks then I’ll be working a little from home, so I’m not disappearing altogether! I’m really looking forward to siting in a comfy chair on my veranda and reading some books, and enjoying some lazy sleepins before the little one comes.
Thanks for all your positive feedback for this new website, especially the constructive criticism...this is exactly what we need to make the service as user friendly as possible. You may not see many changes this month as while Jonathan is away on holiday I'll just be collecting all your comments and on his return we'll nut out what the best things to do are...so please keep those comments coming.
We have elected to keep offering the excel list in a modified version with order form. We have seen the need to offer a no frills list for some of you with slower internet connections. We will upgrade this list to be more user friendly as time permits.
We have a couple of hints to help make ordering on the website easy!
- You do not have to add each item 1 by 1. You can for example choose the items you would like by putting the relevant numbers in each of the items order box as you scroll down the page. Once you have selected each item and have finished on the page simply press enter or “add to cart”. This will add all the items you have selected from that page all in one go, instead of 1 by 1, meaning less time spent ordering as you do not have to wait for the page to reload for each item.
- You can start an order and leave the website by shutting the page down or logging out. You can come back at anytime and the website will remember where you were up to. You can do this as many times as you like and the website will always remember where you were up to (even if your computer suddenly shuts down) You just have to make sure that you are logged in before you start ordering.
- You can make up an order with a friend or group by starting an order under a shared login name leaving it unfinished so that your friend or others in the group can login and add what they would like to the order then finalise the order when everybody has completed their part of the order. You just have to make sure that you are logged in before you start ordering.
We have also installed our new POS system in the warehouse which will help us to process orders more efficiently, track accounts and generally speed up a process that had previously taken us 15hrs to pack all the orders on Wednesdays. A few mistakes are occurring with invoicing whilst adjusting to the new system and we are very sorry for any inconvenience. If you have any queries about you invoice at anytime please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Fruit and Veg news
Spring is in the air… what a response to the new goodies this week… Asparagus and zucchini and that Pineapple…I hope you have been able to be patient and let them ripen a little. We did search through looking for the ripest pineapples for you but I know some of you wound up with pretty green fruit. I couldn’t help myself and cut one open the moment they arrived…it was tart but delicious and tells of good times to come.
I’m sorry about the absence of mandarins, I know I warned you last week but they are a favourite for a lot of you. Never fear, the last batch of lovely amigo mandies have arrived from Humphrie and are sensational.
It looks as if Boc and Pac choi are in their last weeks as availability is becoming very sporadic…we had none to sell to you last week then a tiny amount of Pac arrived in time for market…so fingers crossed, I have left them on the website but be prepared they may be unavailable.
More Spring citrus specials… This week we have Tangelloes greatly reduced at $5.95 kg and a special on Pink and white grapefruit at $2.95 kg. Also we have 1 kg bags of Imperial mandarins at $3.95, the skins look a little marked but the fruit is still superb.
Rhubarb is back and should be a regular again from this week, stewed rhubarb (with apple for those who like it quietened down a little) is one of my favourites, on porridge, mixed through yoghurt or in a crumble or pie with Elgaar double cream!
Aren’t the fresh Fuerte avocadoes exquisite? Creamier than the bacon variety and a lovely nutty flavour, highly recommended. I’m sure you were happy with them. I’ve been eating them on toast with a little miso, lemon juice and black pepper.
Turmeric has arrived and is sensational, if any of you are suffering from these coldy flus you need some Turmeric… it has the highest vitamin content of any known fruit or vegetable!
I really enjoyed eating asparagus this week, I love it…especially the first super crisp stalks of the season…Yum! Hearty Winter menus are definitely changing into fresh lighter Spring menus
