Fruit and Veg news

Apologies for this week: Green beans, corn, red cabbage, ginger, leeks and iceberg lettuce. Flat parsley has also been in short supply

After missing out on the sweet corn for the last few weeks we are happy to say that we have been assured a supply for this week!

We have a new variety of apple joining the list. Along side the Gala’s and Goldens we will have Mutsu. The Mutsu Apple has a moderately sweet flavor with firm, juicy and creamy white flesh. Its skin colour is a yellowish green with an orange blush. The Mutsu apple is also known as Crispin. This apple is vigorous, fairly early, and the fruit is large and oblong shaped. It is excellent for fresh eating, sauces, pies, and baking. This apple stores and keeps well.

The Banana price is finally starting to move back down to the prices we are more used to seeing. The Quality has been excellent also. Order with confidence.

This week we have the first of Humphreys Tahitian limes in stock. Great for cooking up a storm with Asian inspired dishes.

The yellow peaches from Kevin and Cindy Legg are simply outstanding! They are not floury at all! The flavour is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Cauliflower is finally back on the menu with some fantastic snow white caulis coming from The Benson Family of Forest Hill Farms in Tassie’s North West.

We also have some delicious blood plums from David. They came in a little under ripe last week and would have needed a few days in the fruit bowl before they were ready to eat. Once they are ripe they make for fantastic eating.

The grape season just keeps stretching out! We have some fantastic Sultana grapes (seedless) coming from Robinvale (Biodynamic) orchards. We also have everyone’s favourite the Crimson seedless. The Crimsons are nice large berries full of flavour and sweetness.

Strawberries Strawberries Strawberries! It’s been great to have such abundance. They are super delicious!

We have a great special running on Rob Conlan's curly parsley this week. You can get 2 bunches for $5. That’s a saving of $3.

Yorktown Organics keep coming up with the goods! We have loads of cherry tomatoes, Tommy toes and eggplant.

Super crisp and sweet seedless watermelons are coming on thick and fast at the moment so we have a special now down to $4.95kg.

Terry’s delicious Lebanese cucumbers have come down in price. They are so abundant and so yummy.

The new season potatoes have finally arrived! We will be starting of with Dutch Creams, King Edwards, Kennebecs and Kipfler.

We have an abundance of basil coming from Bruce and Clare Jackson of Yorktown organics. The Quality is outstanding and the price is down to $3.95 for 80g bag.

Yorktown organics have released their latest product. Micro Salads – a mixture of their sprouts range packaged up in 80g bags. They are such a delicious combination.

Parsley curly 2 bunches $5.00

Basil bags 80g $3.95ea

Other news

This week we have sienna baked beans and lentils back in stock finally. We also have Jolly organics Gherkins back on the shelf.

Spiral diced and whole peeled tomatoes are finally back in stock. They are a little cheaper than the Amato brand we had in as short term replacement but wont get back to the very cheap prices we saw last year. This is mainly to do with exchange rates and demand issues pushing the prices up!

Bonsoy is also back on the shelf in abundance.

This week also saw the return of the Pureharvest soy and rice milks. Thank you for being so patient. We had been out of stock for some weeks and desperately waiting for our pallets to arrive.

We have been unable to source the Primasoy brand of Tempeh for some weeks now and have decided to run with another brand. We will now have Tally Ho Tempeh in stock in two flavours. Natural and seasoned ready to eat.

Peppermint teas have finally returned to the shelves after a long absence.

Back in stock

500ml Spiral Foods Tamari

Mung bean chips

Mung and Soy Chips

Black sesame crackers

Enriched soy milk

Original soy milk

All Tomas Chipman potato chips

Brazil nuts

Alright that is the lot of me this week.

Have a great week.
